Just as Starbucks continues to add new drinks to its menu, SEVEN continues to add new devices to our already robust lineup of supported handsets.
With our recent deals with several large service providers, SEVEN has boosted its lineup of supported devices from 550 at the start of 2010 to over 800 today. In production in 15 languages and 80 countries, SEVEN’s applications are present on eight operating systems, including the ever-popular Android.
Headlines position Google’s Android as the leading smart phone platform with 32.9 million shipments according to a recent report by Canalys, but further investigation into the report shows that Nokia’s Symbian platform remains very close behind with 31 million shipments. This report is a clear reminder that the operating system market is still very fragmented and there will continue to be a strong competition for customers by all operating systems. This fact is one of the drivers of our continued quest to support as many handsets as possible because our carrier customers will have all or most of these OS’s in their network
This broad-based support also gives SEVEN a great foundation for expanding its product lines from messaging solutions to our recently announced Open Channel traffic optimization solution and beyond. Announced in late January, Open Channel is breakthrough mobile traffic optimization solution that cuts the data consumption of smartphones and other mobile devices by up to 70 percent. With both solutions in place, users can enjoy ease-of-use and improved battery life, providing the ultimate mobile experience.
We are continually developing new solutions that are beneficial for carriers and mobile users alike, so stay tuned for a SEVEN innovation coming to a device near you.
